In the past month, Jeanne and I have been researching for a new car to tow behind our RV.  At first, I wanted a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited because of the abundant 4x4 roads in Colorado and Utah.  While the Jeep are a fun toy to drive, they are not the most feasible vehicle to commute elsewhere.  This has me thinking about long term costs and expenses.  Jeep typically need repairs far too often and only gets about 15 mpg.  Not to mention, our RV gets even less than that.  But that’s where the idea of a Crossover comes into our mind to compensate for the fuel expenses.

Some of the criteria for finding the perfect car for us are lightweight, tow-ability, versatility, economical and efficiency.  We started scoping for various Crossovers that achieves 30+ mpg, great on highways and off-roads with AWD, weighs less than 3,000 pounds, has moonroof, cargo space, roof rack system, and more.  Having observed these cars on the highways and cities, we started noticing which cars stood out among the Crossover packs.  In addition to our research, here is what we have whittled down as our top four Crossovers. Below are what we will be test driving to help us make the final decision.
